About D. Ann Hall

So you're interested in knowing a bit more about me, huh?

I’ve been telling stories since before I could read. I would happily terrify my brother with The Three Billy Goats Gruff and to this day he still hates Trolls.

My many interests all started with ancient Egypt and reincarnation when I was seven. Then I got a crush on the vampire in my teens—I’m blaming Kiefer Sutherland in The Lost Boys for that—then Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles took over. The supernatural closely followed. I’ve even stayed and worked in a haunted place or two.

My favourite genres to read and write are paranormal horror, thrillers and historical. I strive to create stories with a wide appeal, as they usually fall in the genre blender. My first novel The Rising: Awakening is one such tale where Paranormal meets Supernatural and amidst the fear and horror that life can throw at you, there is still love to be had in the darkest of situations.

My stories are full of the things that interest and terrify me. I'm fascinated by graveyards and churches. In love with ancient history - especially Egyptian - and Scottish folktales. Oh and I love skulls too.

I was born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland, where I still live with my hubby and teenage son. No pets at the moment, unless you count my mum's cat, Hamish. He's one eye, looks mean but is a big softy.

“Come for the horror, stay for the romance.
